Dreams of Carmanah was inspired by the iconic Carmanah Lighthouse, a place I have had the good fortune of visiting many times. The work was created as a gift for retiring light keepers Jerry and Janett Etzkorn. They were stationed at Carmanah for over 24 years, while raising their two kids Justine and Jake. When I close my eyes and think of Carmanah, the one that comes to mind is the view as you round Bonilla Point. The Lighthouse is perched up on a cliff off in the distance, shining bright in red and white. I was with Janett the first time I saw it from there. "Looks like the Disney Castle eh?!". She read my mind.
