Tofino Artist Pete Clarkson
October 5 - November 15, 2005
Tofino Botanical Gardens Gallery

Pete Clarkson has been a park warden for 23 years, working in the natural splendour of some of Canada’s most beloved national parks. In 1998 he moved to Tofino, to work at Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park.

As he explored the park, he was moved by the endless assortment of flotsam washing ashore. Inspired by the coastal tradition of using beach-combed objects for outdoor art, his first pieces were created as fence art, but his work has since migrated indoors.

He’s instructed at art camps for youth and offered courses on creating art from found objects. He has received a number of private commissions and his work is being collected across Canada.

Join Pete for a reception on October 5th, 2005
at 7pm at SoBo in the Gardens in Tofino, BC.
